Extrusion

Caplugs’ extrusion product line includes custom edge liners as well as hose protection, custom packaging and netting products. Our packaging and netting items are designed to protect parts from damage during shipping and storage. Our hose guards and protectors help avoid hose damage including unnecessary repairs and replacements.

Our plastic tubing, netting and containers are available in a variety of sizes, styles and colors to meet your specific needs, while our latest extrusion technology allows for quick changeovers. These products are ideal for industrial and consumer packaging and can also be used as finished packaging solutions.

Netting

Caplugs Sleeve-Web is used to protect smooth, threaded or cylindrical parts as well as flat, irregular or nesting parts. From wine and spirit bottles to gas cylinders and medical instruments, netting is an ideal protection solution for shipping and storage. A special series is also available for compressed air cylinders and bottles.

This is a great option for packaging in lieu of cardboard, wood or other materials that are more susceptible to degradation and rot in wet conditions. The SWI Series even features a rust inhibitor to further protect your products in shipping, storage or transit.

Netting also offers the advantage of being flexible, making it ideal for wrapping around irregularly shaped products and parts. Caplugs’ netting is available in pre-cut and custom, cut-to-length plastic.

Tubing

Ideal for packaging, shipping and transport, Caplugs plastic tubing is made in a wide variety of diameters and lengths. Manufactured in three different styles of tubing including open-end and closed-end round tubing as well as square tubing, it is an ideal solution for many shipping and storage needs. Tubes are also available with standard or heavy wall to suit your specific packaging application.

Each tube style can include custom designs that can be paired with many of our caps and plugs to complete your packaging requirements.

Edge Liners

Caplugs’ edge liners offer protection from sharp edges and openings in sheet metal. In some cases, they can be used as spacers to protect the sheet metal face or installed as protection around a large or irregularly shaped hole.

Caplugs offers many different sizes and styles of standard and custom edge liners, including a series of conductive edge liners for circuit board and subassembly protection. Some edge protectors can also be used as protection during masking processes.

Grommets are also available to protect electrical insulation, hoses and cables installed through holes punched in metal.

Hose Protection

Caplugs acquired the two industry leaders in hose protection – Safeplast and Pig’s Tail. We carry on their tradition of quality with six extrusion lines, delivering the highest quality spiral wrap hose protection and containment solutions in the industry.

Made from high quality materials, our hose guard products stand out from the competition. Our proprietary extrusion methods ensure consistency, accuracy and scalability to meet our customers’ hose protection and containment needs.

Why Extrusion?
  • Ability to cut to desired length in-line or run in spools
  • Online fly-knife and planetary cutters for different cut types
  • PETG, LDPE, HDPE, PP, PVC and conductive materials

Die Cutting

Die-cutting is extremely effective when masking a flat surface. Custom die-cuts are quick and easy to apply and remove, and they can even be fitted with pull tabs to expedite the removal process. This solution is ideal for wet paint, powder coating, e-coating and plating operations. Custom die-cuts are also an economical way to eliminate tedious manual masking steps, saving significantly on labor costs.

Our die-cutting process is done in-house and is fully customizable. Die cuts don’t require tooling, allowing for lower costs and faster production. From simple circles and squares to more complex designs cut up to 60"x120", we are the die cut experts to call on. We can create die cuts with 2” rigid, durable materials or soft, flexible variations in standard and custom materials such as 2-ply foam. Magnetic and adhesive backed options are also available.
